Meet Maylin!

Meet Maylin Rivera, an enthusiastic Speech-Language Pathologist in her Clinical Fellowship (CF) year, passionate about creating dynamic and purposeful therapy sessions.

In 2020, Maylin graduated from Seton Hall University with a Bachelor’s degree in Integrated Early Childhood, Elementary, and Special Education, complemented by a second major in Social and Behavioral Sciences. After embarking on a year of teaching, she went on to earn her Master’s degree in speech-language pathology at her alma mater.

During her clinical training, Maylin has gained evaluation and therapeutic experience across diverse settings, including school, hospital, and private practice environments. She provided therapeutic services to individuals across the lifespan, from neonatal to geriatric ages, addressing speech, language, and swallowing disorders. This included evaluating and/or treating speech and language deficits secondary to ASD, articulation errors, phonological disorders, childhood apraxia of speech, receptive/expressive language disorders, pragmatic deficits, and dysphagia. Her experience encompasses delivering care in challenging environments like the NICU and ICU.

When delivering client-centered treatment, she loves to bring creativity and innovation to her clients by integrating their interests and hands-on activities, such as interactive games, various crafts, and movement-based activities, during sessions to effectively target treatment goals. At the core of her practice lies a profound respect for each client's unique journey. Through collaborative efforts with individuals and their families, she cultivates a therapeutic environment that is both supportive and empowering.

During her downtime, Maylin finds joy in activities such as drawing, baking, indulging in karaoke sessions, and embarking on adventures with her beloved dog, Ace. She is also passionate about rescuing animals, having provided homes for a guinea pig and several cats.
