Speech Therapy Near Me: Our Programming

Building skills for independence, connection, and a fulfilling life through personalized, functional therapy.

At The Therapy Garden, we offer a variety of supportive and engaging programs designed to help adults build skills for independence, connection, and a fulfilling life. Whether you are looking to enhance real-life communication, explore artistic talents in a low-pressure setting, or refine technical art skills, our programs provide a safe and inclusive environment to foster social growth, connect with peers, and express yourself.

Brunch Bunch

This is a program created at The Therapy Garden to provide a safe place for individuals wanting to socialize independently. With Brunch Bunch, you will be served a bagel breakfast and have time to just enjoy yourself and socialize. Anyone coming to spend time with us here is welcome to use the available amenities. If you want to make yourself a cup of coffee and watch some TV, you’re free to do so! Or maybe you are more interested in spending time in the art studio, that works too. You could even play a game of Uno with a friend! The point is this is your time to spend how you choose. While those coming to hang at the office during this time will be supervised, this is not a structured class or program. Speech Pathologists and DSPs on site will interact and help foster socialization with attendees but are not there to work on any specific skills or provide one-on-one service.

Important notes:

  • We are not a day program

  • We cannot administer medication of any kind

Craft Club

Craft Club is a slower paced, loosely structured class for those who are looking to socialize while making art or just spend some time expressing themselves creatively. Participants in this class are encouraged to choose what they want to do, whether this is creating a project of their own or picking what the instructor chooses for the day. Those who are a part of this class will be included in the end of the year art show to show off their work!

Craft Club may be a good fit for you if…

  • You are looking for a low-pressure social setting with a small class size to enjoy yourself and relax

  • You are looking to meet new friends who also like art

  • You love to do art like coloring, painting, working with clay, or following step-by-step instructions in a craft

  • One hour of class time is a good stopping point for you

Studio Art

Studio Art is a class where we focus on a variety of fine art skills. We work with pencils, pens, markers, and paint to name a few materials. Students in this class will work to learn foundational skills and further develop their creative voice. This class is included in the art show at the end of the semester!

Painting may be a good fit for you if…

  • You are looking for a class to learn more technical skills and practice them in demos in addition to projects

  • You enjoy focusing on more than one project at a time

  • You want a class where you can socialize but the main focus is your artwork

  • You like to do multiple different types of artwork

  • Two hours of class is something that you would enjoy

Painting

Painting is a class that is great to take if you have already enjoyed Studio Art or if you just love to paint! In this class, we focus on using a variety of different paints and liquid mediums for all 12 weeks. Students will learn different painting techniques during this time and will also be encouraged to experiment with mixed-media. This class is included in the end of semester art show.
